.This modernization enables flexible communication options for Telecom Egypt- WE customers, boosting service experiences and digital engagement, while reducing costs

Strengthening its longstanding partnership with Ericsson, Telecom Egypt has selected the Ericsson Mediation platform to further boost its digital transformation and to reduce the communication service provider’s operating costs.

This was announced on the sidelines of Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, Barcelona, Spain.

Ericsson Mediation plays a key role in the communication service provider’s unified customer communication platform for modernizing its customer journeys and boosting and improving customer experiences and digital interactions.

It will allow Telecom Egypt to provide its customers with flexible communication choices, allowing them to opt for app notifications or traditional SMS as a way to receive information from the provider.

This reduces OPEX, drives digital engagement, and also fosters digital interaction, creating a more convenient and cost-effective experience.
Ericsson Mediation will empower Telecom Egypt with agility and user-friendliness through an intuitive service creation environment, remote access, and configuration tools.

This translates to faster time-to-market for new services, efficient system customization, and seamless interoperability with legacy and modern Information Technology systems, making it the ideal platform for a dynamic telecom landscape.

Mohamed Alfowey, Chief Technology Officer of Telecom Egypt, says: “Building stronger partnerships with industry leaders like Ericsson is pivotal to our mission of delivering exceptional experiences to our increasingly digital customer base.

With the Ericsson Mediation platform, we are unlocking the agility and scalability needed to seamlessly adapt to evolving business needs and explosive data growth.

This paves the way for simplifying our customer workflows and enhancing their overall experience. We are confident this strategic step will accelerate our transformation journey, boost operational agility, and unlock a significant performance leap for our network.”

Kevin Murphy, Vice President and Head of Ericsson North Middle East and Africa, says: “At Ericsson, we understand the critical need for communication service providers like Telecom Egypt to navigate an ever-evolving telecom landscape with agility and efficiency.

By upgrading to the Ericsson Mediation platform, we enable Telecom Egypt to bring new services to market faster, customize their systems with ease, and ensure seamless interoperability across diverse IT environments.

Ericsson Mediation is the ideal platform for communication service providers seeking to thrive in a dynamic and demanding market.”

With more than 240 customers worldwide serving over a billion subscribers, Ericsson Mediation continues to serve as an exceptionally stable, predictable, and accurate mediation platform and will enable Telecom Egypt to offer services that boost digitalization across Egypt.
