Elsewedy Electric Achieves Significant Growth in 2025 with Expanding Global Footprint and Strong Project Backlog

Elsewedy Electric

Elsewedy Electric, a global leader in integrated energy solutions, infrastructure, and

digital transformation, has achieved significant growth across all its business segments

in 2025 The company saw strong performance particularly in the wires and cables and

engineering and construction sectors This growth underscores the effectiveness of Elsewedy

Electric’s strategy of diversifying revenue streams geographically and across different sectors

enabling sustainable expansion and strengthening its presence in international markets

Strong Performance Across All Business Segments in 2025

Ahmed Shokry, Group Chief Financial Officer at Elsewedy Electric, highlighted that every

business segment recorded growth in 2025, with particular success in the wires and cables

and engineering and construction divisions The latter saw a notable growth rate of approximately

25%. Shokry attributed the company’s strong performance to its diversified strategy, which allowed for

robust sales growth despite challenges such as heightened competition and expanding into new

geographical markets He acknowledged that while competition in key markets, notably in Egypt

and margin pressures in Saudi Arabia in the second half of the year affected profit margins

these challenges were expected in the early stages of market expansion. Shokry emphasized

that entering new markets often involves accepting lower initial margins to establish a

sustainable foothold

International Revenue Growth and the Expansion into New Markets

Elsewedy Electric has successfully increased its international revenue share, which now

accounts for about 70% of total revenues compared to around 30% from Egypt’s domestic

market Gulf markets are the largest contributors, generating 35% to 40% of total revenues

while Algeria and the United Kingdom are also showing positive results

As part of its strategic efforts to grow in Asia and the Americas, the company is expanding into

new markets such as Indonesia, further diversifying its geographic presence beyond the traditional

markets in the Middle East, Africa, and Europe This expansion aligns with Elsewedy Electric’s

long-term vision of strengthening its global footprint Additionally, around 70% of the Group’s

revenues are now denominated in foreign currencies, highlighting the increasingly international

nature of the company’s operations

Saudi Arabia: A Key Growth Market for Elsewedy Electric

Saudi Arabia remains one of the most important markets for Elsewedy Electric’s growth

The company has invested over USD 300 million over the past two years to expand existing

facilities and establish new manufacturing lines for cables, transformers, and cable accessories

The company is also executing major power generation and transmission projects in Saudi

Arabia worth approximately USD 3 billion, highlighting the critical role of Saudi Arabia in

the company’s growth strategy

Project Backlog Reaches USD 6.5 Billion

Elsewedy Electric’s project backlog has reached approximately USD 6.5 billion, surpassing

the typical backlog size seen in previous years. This strong project pipeline reflects the

company’s ability to secure large-scale projects across various sectors, further solidifying

its market position

Global Economic Challenges and Supply Chain Impact

In light of recent global economic uncertainties, Shokry noted that while geopolitical tensions

have not yet directly impacted project execution, global supply chains have been affected

Shipping costs and timing delays remain challenges that the company is monitoring closely

to ensure that ongoing projects are not disrupted, maintaining delivery timelines and client satisfaction
