The Software Engineering Competence Center (SECC), part of the Information Technology
Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), has officially launched the Software Testing Competition
as part of the 4th edition of Software Testing Day This competition aims to inspire creative and
practical solutions to address the growing challenges in software testing and quality assurance
Objectives of the Software Testing Competition
This competition is designed to encourage the development of innovative solutions that improve
the quality and efficiency of software testing It aligns with ITIDA’s mission to enhance the
competitiveness of Egypt’s software industry, strengthen specialized skills, and contribute to
the growth of digital solutions capable of competing on regional and international markets
These efforts also support Egypt’s vision to build a knowledge-based digital economy

Areas of Focus for the Competition
ITIDA The competition invites undergraduate students, software testers, and
developers to submit innovative ideas that address real-world software
testing challenges Key areas of interest include
Automated test case generation
Automated test scripting
Defect reporting and root cause analysis
Synthetic test data generation
Test execution scheduling and prioritization
Self-healing automation scripts
These focus areas are designed to advance the quality of software through
automation and improved testing strategies, while also providing fresh
approaches to optimizing the software development lifecycle
Participation Guidelines and Team Structure
Team Composition: Teams can consist of up to five members, with each
participant allowed to join only one team
Independent Participation: Teams must participate independently, without
representing any company, organization, or entity
Submission Limit: Each team is allowed to submit only one idea
Ethical Standards: Teams are expected to adhere to ethical and professional
standards, ensuring that team names and submissions align with fair competition rules.
ITIDA: Key Competition Dates and Phases
Notification of Accepted Teams: Teams selected to participate
will be notified by February 15.
Development Phase: From April 5 to May 7, accepted teams will work
on developing their ideas into prototypes or fully integrated software solutions
Announcement of Winners: The top three teams will be announced on May 11, during
the Software Testing Day event These teams will have the opportunity to present their
final solutions in front of an international jury panel
All presentations and supporting materials must be submitted in English to maintain
consistency, transparency, and uniform evaluation standards.
Integrity and Ethical Standards
In line with the highest ethical standards, participants must confirm that their submitted
ideas have not previously won in any similar competition, and that they are not currently
available commercial products Any submission that violates professional conduct, or
engages in discrimination, abuse, or other unethical behaviors will be disqualified immediately
About the Software Engineering Competence Center (SECC)
Established in 2001, SECC serves as ITIDA’s technical and knowledge arm, providing
consultancy and certification services to Egyptian software companies. It operates as
an internationally accredited center of excellence, helping local software companies
adopt global software engineering standards to improve their development processes
